Fred vs. Food

Yesterday I decide I would go a little crazy with cooking. I made some chocolate covered bacon. OMG the stuff is amazing. First the sweet, then the salty. Its an amazing amount of flavors that touch the taste buds.

I think next time I may dry the chocolate covered deep fried bacon. Yes I know its not healthy, but I bet it would taste great.

Fun Food Friday

A few of us started this thing a while back we call Fun Food Friday. We started out just getting together and trying to outdo the show Man vs. Food with Adam Richman. We've done some pretty over the top food, including a grilled cheese with 9 different cheese....on each side of the bread. It turned into a Spam food challenge.

About 3 weeks ago, we had some food that we've already had before. But now I have pics that I am able to share.

Here we have deep fried bacon. Yes you heard it right...nature's candy now deep fried and even more unhealthy, tho amazing taste. Much better than normal bacon. This stuff taste good cold out of the fridge.

Its even harder to stop eating bacon now than it was before. And if you don't know what Spam is, you should. Its not crappy canned meat. Spam was originally designed for the military. Even now, opening the can is somewhat repulsive. All canned meat basically smells the same so when you open Spam, it smells just like canned dog or cat food. Here we have Jase slicing Spam for some spam burgers.

Ok don't knock this next part. We watched Man vs. Food and I saw a burger so outrages that it had to be good. For the bun it uses a Krispy Kreme donut. Although Krispy Kreme is not as easy to get ahold of any glazed donut will work. Actually if the donuts are stale, I think it would hold up a lot better.

Next cooking the burgers.

Cut the donuts in half, and butter each side.

Then you have to grill the donut inside down.

And here is the final burger. Burger, deep fried bacon and covered in cheese. With the glazed donut as the bun.

Now check this out. At first glace it looks like every other burger. This burger was deep fried. Jase deep fried 2 of them for us to try. They were truly amazing.

Vegas was a bust...not I'm not really going to go there. Lastly none of us will ever stay at Circus Circus again. Fuck them. Bad everything!

Out of touch with SAMCRO. K2 and I have decided not to watch anymore, until we can catch up on all the missed episodes.

The good thing now is that the Vegas stress is gone.

Lately, I've gotten sick of epay...err ebay. I posted a ton of stuff on yardsellr.com. No fees until you sell. Works for me. We'll see how that goes. I have new products not listed on TwistedPistonsGear.com nor will ever get listed there. It just doesn't fit what I am trying to do. I am a terrible marketing person. But I try. This weekend is some alone time with K2. Saturday, we will ride up to Jerome. She's certainly excited. I'm not saying I'm not, cuz I am. I love going to Jerome.

Well up til today, I was doing just fine. I don't think I don't even remember being stressed about everything being perfect last year, when I got married. I am stressing like crazy right now. I have more shit that I realized to take care of before Vegas Bikefest. Need to still do what I can to help Jase finish his new Trident design. I still have to get a new title, register, plate, insure and clean K2's bike....plus clean my bike, truck, trailer, pack, clean garage. UGH!

I posted how I was thinking of doing this on November 5th, 2011 here in Phoenix. K2 agreed and wanted to do it to, even before I had the chance to ask her if she will do it. So now I am going to start a team and hope I can get a couple more ppl involved in raising money for MS. I would like to personally raise $500, not including my own contribution.

Now we just need a clever team name. I thought of using the business name somehow...but not sure I want to do that. Even thought to use "Easy Riders". Which ever name we choose, I want it to do with bikers or biker related. Ideas?

Just got new tires on my truck on Monday. K2 helped me clean up the wheels so they look better. Also so when it rains, the crud doesn't bleed to the outside of the wheels and look like shit again. Stock tires should have been 265/70r/17, but Larry Miller Dodge #fail thought it was a good idea to put 246/70r/17 on instead. Of course what I found out when I got new tires was that they didn't replace the spare as well. Assholes. Not sure why I'm surprised. I had to get a spare too, cuz I'm smart like that. They used to look like the donut spares ppl ride around with sometimes. I needed new tires cuz they were dry rotting, and they were nearly 4 years old. I'd say that's pretty damn good. I replaced them with the largest possible without rubbing on the wheel well, 285/70r/17. Now it looks like a lifted monster truck....ok maybe not a monster truck. But it looks fucking great! Drives like a truck now, like it should. Even K2 was impressed. Even tho they cost a grip. Lookie!!

Is that cool or what? I have to climb into it now....def taller. Don't mind the dirt, I plan on washing her soon.

Eric Church's new album titled Chief just hit the shelves yesterday (July 26th, 2011). This was a very anticipated album, especially after hearing his latest single "Homeboy" from this album.

The man that brought us hits like "These boots", "Guys like me" "Hell on the heart" & of course I can't forget "Smoke a little smoke" releases his 3rd album.

Even tho Kmart advertised that they would not only have the album yesterday, they discounted the price to $8.99. Right after work my wife and I go to there to pick the album up and they have none on the shelf. The guy at the counter even went to the back to see if they were in a box still. No luck. What bullshit. Seriously? How can you advertise that if you can't follow thru. Guess I will not be shopping there at all again. Assholes! This was the one of the reasons I did not pre-order the album. So we drove to Target instead since it was the only place that I could think would have it near the house (besides Walmarx, which I refuse to go). Of course they had it! Not only that, but they also had it on sale for $8.99. BINGO!!!!! Thank you Target for not letting me down.

Not able to wait until I get home, I opened the CD as soon as I left the store and popped in the the player. First song "Creepin" starts off with a very old echo sound that you sometimes hear. I really love this effect. After a few lyrics it sounds normal again, but he usually the effect in the chorus lines throughout. The track is easy to follow and relate to..."What the dreams forget the whiskey remembers".

Eric was involved in writing every song except "Like Jesus does". When I did a search, I saw something about a cover but was not able to find anything about the original. It would make sense why he didn't write it if it is a cover song.

As soon as the 2nd track, "Drink in my hand", starts playing and Kelly said the exact same thing I was thinking. Good or bad, I said agreed. "All you gotta do is put a drink in my hand". Speaking of which, I'm ready for some Jack Daniel's and the beginning of the weekend.

There really is not a song on this album that I didn't enjoy. A few days ago I remember watching a video on his website called "I'm getting' stoned". Its not what you think. Just listen to the song and you will understand what I mean. It's the 10th track on the album and am happy that I was able to hear it before the album dropped.

Of course there is "Homeboy" which has been playing on the radio for a while. At first listen, I really didn't like the song. It didn't take long before it grew on me and changed my phone ring tone too. Maybe only after the 2nd or 3rd time I heard it. The music is great and the lyrics are powerful. Definitely has an interesting title.

And how can I forget to mention this song? You ask which one? How well do you know me? lol "Jack Daniels". Need I say any more? I think not. "But Jack Daniels kicked my ass again last nite".

Eric Church is an amazing talent, both singer and songwriter. But, he's even more amazing to see in concert. He's able to energize the crowd and give the fans exactly what they came more. Not only is he a music artist, but also an entertainer.

Kelly and I will be seeing him for the 2nd time in a couple of weeks here in Tempe, Arizona. If you like outlaw country, you should get the album.

I recently purchased the new GoPro HD Helmet HERO Camera, from Amazon along with a Kingston 32 GB Class 4 SDHC Flash Memory Card SD4/32GB and GoPro Handlebar Seatpost Mount for HERO Cameras (which is the mount that I needed in order to hook the camera to my handlebars). There is no package available for the camera and the mount I needed so I had to put out the extra $20 for the mounting kit. I don't wear a helmet, so the helmet mount is usless to me. So is the included chest mount. I want it on the bike.

I'm beginning to think I live under a rock. I don't follow the news much...really just tired of the political BS. However, how did I not hear about the Mean Street Riders? I mean, look at their logo. It’s the epitome of kick butt. If you haven't heard of them or their music, maybe you've been living under a rock too.

In the logo alone, without listening to anything it has biker written all over it.

I received an e-mail from MeanStreet Mary about taking a listen and doing a review. I did a bit of research; however I did not want to be swayed. I asked a few people and no one had heard of them. Perfect, no outside influence!

Fortunate enough to get an advanced copy of it, once it arrived I was very excited. The first song titled "High on the Hog", was probably the best begin track on the entire album. It begins with a one of a kind guitar riff. I was pumped from the first few notes. Lyrics I relate to and seem to fit my life. "I don’t need no Cadillac to make me feel on top. I don’t need a diamond ring or expensive place to shop. Keep Life in a simple state with the rubber on the ground..." Suddenly the chorus line picks up and I'm energized and can't help but dance to it.

If you're a biker, chances are you've heard of the Dragon, Tail of the Dragon, Deal's Gap (among other names it has been given). I see a track titled "129". Without listening to this, the first thing I thought of when I saw the name was "Tail of the Dragon?" I couldn't be more correct. It has a sensational into that begins with a guitar made to sound like something familiar to us all. Bike rev and shifting gears. Funky, Funky, Funky... Bass guitar that has blues written all over it.

With each and every track, I became much more interested. I hear influences that are similar to the Eagles, ZZ Top, Jackson Browne, Zack Brown Band, Tim McGraw, Rodney Adkins, Allman Brothers Band, Skynard (yes, Lynyrd Skynyrd) and even a bit of Chris Isaak. Every song written with emotion. Been there, done that feel throughout. It’s incredible to be able to relive some of my rides and experiences thru words and music. It makes me want to jump up, dance and ride.

"Rollin' On" slows it down at a good time. It has an eerie intro, but this was important to set the stage. Life is not always peaches and cream and neither are our lives. It is darker than the tunes before. "...gonna ride like the wind and the pain." That def hits close to home. C'mon, we've all been there. Even if you aren't a biker.

Another amazing track is "I've had good ride". I want to stand up and go ride. I mean right now!! "It ain’t all about if ya get there fast, Sometimes just take it slow and make the moments last". This is similar to a saying I've heard and used many times over...it's not the destination, but it's the journey that counts. Those are words I live by. 'Take it all in... again and again" epitome of what we (as bikers) are all about. It has a very unique sound that I can't help but play it over and over and over and over and...err you get the point.

I really can't say enough about "Where I was born". Just in case you forget (often most of us do or at least take for granted) that the United States (even with its flaws and our liberty and freedom being challenged more and more every single day) is the greatest country in the world.

The album has something for everyone of every walk of life. I hear so many instruments and sounds it’s a wonder how they can do it with so few in the band. Currently in rehearsal until late summer/fall and will likely tour. They have already been asked perform biker rallies in Florida, Massachusetts and Texas but this is only the beginning. The MeanStreet Riders, which live and breathe motorcycles, were formed in 2008. Their debut album, "High on the Hog" will be released about the 3rd week in July. A Jack Daniels Fishing Story

I went fishing this morning, but after a short time I ran out of worms. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a cottonmouth with a frog in his mouth. "Frogs are good bass bait" I thought to myself.

Knowing the snake couldn't bite me with the frog in his mouth; I grabbed him right behind the head, took the frog, and put it in my bait bucket.

Just then, I realized I had a problem, how was I going to release the snake without getting bit? So, I grabbed my bottle of Jack Daniels and poured a little whiskey in its mouth. The snakes eyes rolled back and he went limp. I released him into the lake without incident and carried on fishing using the frog.

A little later, I felt a nudge at my foot. There was that same snake with two more frogs in his mouth.

Life is good in the South.

Friday nite bike nite @ Mesa Riverview

It was a typical bike week at Mesa Riverview. I love it there.

It runs officially from 5pm-9pm. Since I get off work at 4 and it is in the east valley not far from work, I just pick up K2 (she's a mile or so away) and head right there. And since it doesn't start until 5 we usually grab a bite to eat. The first time we went we ate at Matte's Mexican Cantina. By first glance both K2 and I felt very out of place. I would have walked out if it wasn't for see some other bikers in there. Its more of an upper class type of atmosphere. Not to say that they did not welcome us with open arms, because they did just that. The service was great and then even serve chips and salsa/hot sauce. Beer was not very much, and we ordered from the happy hour special. Food was tasty and I enjoyed my fish taco. I can't even remember what the hell Kelly got tho. From there we left and drank beer at Cactus Moon....since this started we've only missed 2 weeks and even showed up last week when it was not being held here, but rather downtown Mesa for the monthly Mesa Bikes on Main. Cactus Moon has, by far, the best beer prices.

Last week was when Bikes on Main was going on, and we showed up and met my sister there. I wanted to kick it at Toby Keith's I love this bar and grill. I love that place. But I don't love their prices. Food is excellent, service is good. But price....ouch! Between all of us a couple hours later, it rang up over $150 tab. Beers, whiskey, and food are very pricey. I expected the food to be that way. Hell, I had my birthday there a couple years ago when it first had opened. Food is definitely worth it, tho this is not a place I will go on a regular basis and won't have much to drink.

Before arriving we ate at Yoshi's....its a oriental food/sushi fast food place. And its good. Then we rolled over.

We always sit on the Cactus Moon patio and drink beer, and of course bike and ppl watch.

This week has brought to most custom paint jobs, custom bikes and unique rides (I will explain more later). I love Mesa Riverview bike nite. It is a great place to hang, look at bikes, drink some beer, socialize and just relax. Everyone is very relaxed and cool....no bad attitudes. It is strange tho, this is not as much of a showing off place as Westgate is. Not to mention most bikes are quiet...not nearly the loud pipes I'm used to. No worries tho...still some great paint jobs.

This is the one of the most unique I've seen. Not because of the paint job...not because it is a trike with a trailer...but because it has a Hurst as the trailer. And I'm pretty sure it can actually fit a casket. It has the inner workings and wheels just as a normal one would have. Only on a bike trailer. Its wicked!!

Ex-detention officer gets 10.5 years in fatal Goodyear crash

A former Maricopa County detention officer has been sentenced to prison.

The Superior Court said Tuesday that 27-year-old Adrian Salazar Guzman was sentenced to 10.5 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter and endangerment stemming from a car-motorcycle crash in Goodyear last fall.

Court records show that 27-year-old Alisha Marie Trejo was killed Oct. 16 when her motorcycle was hit from behind while at a stop sign.

Goodyear police say Guzman told them that he drank alcohol throughout the day and left the last bar about half an hour before the crash.

Guzman worked in the Fourth Avenue Jail in downtown Phoenix at the time.

If you live in Arizona, this is a great way to ride the state and you may even visit places you haven't been before. I know it worked out that way last year for K2 and I. However, we never finished since we only had 2 months.

This time, we got our cards right after it started. We have several stamps already. And now with the weather warming up, its time to head north to get our stamps in locations much further away from where we live.

Wow...its been forever since I posted here. Life is busy...

I haven't been doing much riding at all...no trips, nothing exciting to talk about. I've been remodeling the house. Master bath is and has been done...carpet is torn out except in the master bedroom. I'm going to be putting in wood laminate. But before I do that, Kelly and I have been busting ass painting the house. Each room/area with a different color. So far the small spare is done, and we did most of the great room/dining room area. We have some white on the window sills, but that is the last thing I've worried about. Next is the big spare, hall bathroom, master bedroom and finally the kitchen. Looking forward to being completed.

We've also decided to cover the front of the house in vines. I've always loved that look...but that is something that is going to take a lot of time. Also considering making a backyard wall out of bamboo trees. Only time will tell what we will actually do.

Tomorrow I get off work at 2pm and pick up mama. From there we will head to Prescott Valley for the Eric Church/Miranda Lambert concert. I have been bless with getting the chance to meet Eric Church, get an autograph and photo with him. Hopefully I will be able to get my acoustic guitar signed by him and frame it to hang on the wall.

Last nite I broke the glass bowl that goes with my electric mixer...so more then likely I won't be doing any baking this year like I thought. I'm still probably going to make some more cheese. I found out from a cousin that it can be made with whole milk so that I don't have to buy raw milk (which is very expensive).

Hopefully I will be back on here and Twitter more....until then keep the rubber side down.

This song recently started playing quite a bit on the radio. I took a liking to it and even have the album now. I enjoy listening to Miranda Lambert, but she's not a fav that I look out for. This is a day that will never be forgotten. At least for the biker community around the world. On Saturday Sandy, K2 and I visit the crash site. This was one of the most humbling experiences to me. The Murial that was placed there full of all sorts of items is simply an amazing outpour from the motorcycle community. The entire scene was way to close to home, no matter I knew them or not. You could still see the white substance the police puts down for fuel spills as well as the burn marks. As soon as we arrived, I noticed the channel 5 news van. I just started by sitting on the small wall for a few minutes. Taking everything in. Clearing my head a bit for what I was about to experience. Once I got off the wall I looked at all that was left for this Murial. Complete awe. A couple of older ladies took pictures. I decided that out of respect for those who had passed away, those survived and families of all I would not do so. Even as much as many love my photography, I could not capture everything here. I could not begin to impose such emotion in only such stagnate photographs. You would just have to be there. You just need to visit and pay your respects on a personal level. After I had surveyed the Murial, I was less than ready to see what was ahead. I turned around and looked into the road, where the bikes lay on that day. I am not a very emotional person at all, but I was nearly in tears from the moment I arrived. There are no photographs or words than can capture this. After taking all this in, I left the area with no intention of returning. I had been having some very bad acid reflux so I went into Walgreens for milk and then sat on the bench outside of the store with Sandy and Kelly. It was respectful of the channel 5 to wait until we had left before filming anything. March 25 and April 10th are 2 days that have burned a permanent memory as to where I was on those days. Neither, will I forget.

Life not always what we expect but time to move on

This weekend was a bit of a disappointment. Not all was bad by any means. I got to spend some real quality time with a very good friend. That was the best part of all. Church was not as expected. I was floored to say the least. As you know I am not able to say much about it, but I will say a few general things. Church is the time when I get to see my brothers and sisters that I do not get to see all the time. I always look forward to it. I know I have only gone to church 3 times, but they really grow on you. I learn alot from it every time. I'm not sure it will always be a learning experience, but for now it is and will probably be for a while. Political play came into action this time which was very discouraging. Its sad to see this happen, but we all know everyone has their own agenda. As for me, I have no intention of ever becoming an officer. What I currently do for the club as well as in the future is give what I can and be the best brother I can.

Although it is done and over with, all that I have control to do is learn and move on. Not every day can be a good one. That's life. Life is not fair, and the quicker everyone learns this the better. This is a lesson I learned at a very young age and always look back to this when things are not going my way. I truly believe the saying "what doesn't kill us, only makes us strong". It couldn't be coined in any better. I am never one to "show" emotion. It doesn't mean I don't feel, but its something I may never get passed. I'm ok with that. I'm comfortable with myself. I like who I am.

Let me give you a little insight on me. No one will ever figure me out. Ever. No one has and no one will. Then again, the only one that may ever is my friend Michael. With an extremely high IQ he is able to read almost anyone. I am one of the most unusual ppl that most have ever met, and not in a bad way. I have a pretty good attitude most of the time. Even when down, I tend to try and stay positive. Occasionally I bitch and moan about shit, but its nothing more than venting. I am loyal to a fault. Basically meaning that will stand by someone even if they are wrong. I am very family oriented. My family means more than I could ever explain in words. Anyone who has been around this will know what I mean. Family is one of the most important things in my life. I am very close to my sister Sandy. I have always claimed me to be Italian. Given my birth I am 1/4 Italian and 1/4 Sicilian. Not everyone understand the difference, but it exists. I was raised mainly by the Italian side of my family (mom's side), by the strong family values, the culture, the food, etc. So as far as I'm concerned I am Italian. Some have argued this with me, but this is not something that I will ever give in about. Its always up for discussion, but it will turn out much the same as religion. Does God exist or not. Its a question that has plagued humanity since it began. Basically, you will never change my mind on the subject. I believe in God and am a God fearing man. I am somewhat a spiritual person, but being that religion is a hot and controversial subject you will rarely if ever find me talking about it. I have my believes and faith, but I will not push this on to others. I am always willing to discuss this topic if asked. I'm pretty much an open book with most anything. I will not bring things up, but am willing to discuss. I am not proud of everything I have done, but it has molded me into the man I am.

Take a deep breath. And another. Enjoy each like it is my last. Live a life that I believe is best for me and my family. It doesn't always mean it is, but it is of my opinion, thoughts and feelings. Time to move on, and look to the week ahead.

What hapens in Vegas...

...stays in Vegas. Ok most of what happens will stay in Vegas, the rest will just be plastered all over this blog. Warning: This entry will consist of mainly photos.

Let me first by saying thank you to Jason, Kelly, Tony & Alex for talking me into even going on this trip. They pushed me a bit even when I was sure I would not have the money to go, but after checking hotel prices I quickly booked my room. I ended up getting a room at the Gold Spike Hotel & Casino which I've never heard of in my life before now. I saw that it was just off Fremont Street where most of the Bikefest action was to take place. As the trip became closer I found out they moved everything to different locations. That's ok, because I only paid $20 for the first nite, and $30 for each of the next 2 nites. I even managed to talk my sister Sandy into going with. In fact we had a last minute decision to take my son Xavier (on the bike). My sister drove my rig (06 Dodge Ram 2500, quad cab, 4x4....by other baby).

For those of you who don't know the plan was to meet up with Vixyn, Rob and possibly Judy in Vegas. Tho it was slim that Judy would be there. Rob traveled all the way from Ottawa, Canada. Although I'm not sure Vegas Bikefest was originally a destination it just so worked out that he was able to be there while we were.

Started out Thursday morning with my sister meeting me at my house. I quickly filed up the ice chest with my half gallon of Jack Daniel's and many beers. Sandy followed me to the meet spot. While waiting there I received a text from Kelly letting me know a guy named Kerry would be there. I walked to the gas station right around where we were and got some water to drink. On my way back I did noticed a guy sitting by himself with a bobber. Walked over to him and found out this was Kerry.

There were a total of 6 bikes and 4 cages traveling in our caravan. Xavier hopped off in Wickenburg. He was getting drowsy so he decided to ride with Sandy. Glad he did, I do not want him riding like that. When we stopped for gas in Wikeup, I was in shock. I've never seen bikers so rude. I'm sure most were all headed to Vegas, so there were plenty of them. But damn it ppl wait for your damn turn and quit trying to cut in front of others. After we filled up then we stopped at a BBQ place for lunch just down the road. I got a rack of ribs and they were fantastic! I highly recommend this place, tho I do not remember the name. Maybe Kelly or Jason will comment (or anyone who was with us) and post the name of this place. Xavier decided that he was going to ride the rest of the way. He rode the entire way except the route between Wickenburg & Wikeup which is approximately 80 miles. And he loved ever bit of it. Damn was I proud of him. I've been to Vegas a ton of times and have always hated the drive. Mainly because the straight highway from Kingman to Hoover Dam. Booooooooooooooooooring. Not this time tho. For those who have driven this in a cage but not on a bike, I highly recommend doing this. Once you start heading up the hill towards Hoover Dam, the scenery is absolutely beautiful. Many times you could see the Colorado River. The canyon walls were amazing and the ride was really fun. We stopped at the dam to rest a bit and to put on our helmets since Nevada has a mandatory helmet law (yuck). There were ppl here that were in awe of all the bikers coming thru. The funny part was there were some Asian's that were absolutely fascinated with us. They asked to take a picture with or sitting on some of the bikes. It was a bit amusing to watch. Just goes to show you that they do not see this type of thing.

After we arrived we headed to our own hotels and would plan on meeting somewhere for dinner. During this time I called both Vixyn and Rob and planned to meet at the Sahara Casino where the Bikefest registration was. Shortly before going thru the line I noticed everyone started to trickle in. Finally the introduction with Vixyn and Rob. After looking at the picture of Michael and Rob I knew that Rob was going to be taller then me. At this point I was very excited to have met others outside of Arizona that I talk to on Twitter all the time. We all decided to eat dinner at the buffet in the Sahara. On the way there we saw a guy eating this 7 pound burrito. No I'm not kidding, this guy was almost a quarter of the way done with it too. I politely asked to take a photo and he laughingly agreed.

DAMN! Now that's a burrito! Just looking at it makes me ill. After dinner we headed down to Fremont Street to see what was going on and check out Hogs & Heiffers Saloon. Saw the ending to one of the light shows. If you have never been, its worth a look.

Somehow we ended up coming here ever nite. With all the bikes outside we had to check them all out.

Obviously a woman's bike, but this one did have some nice accessories to make it stick out. Sorry for the blurriness, but I had not yet pulled out my camera and was only using my Blackberry.

This little hottie was just inside the front of one of the casinos. Obviously a strip club theme right in front of a few table games. Smart move, I sure as hell wouldn't be paying attention to the game. Lucky enough she was there each nite we passed by. I even managed to get her to stop and pose for me.

The next morning was the first poker run (1 on Friday and 1 on Saturday). Before arriving in Vegas Tony and I had already decided to go on Friday since his bike would be in the competition on Saturday. Rob and I had planned on meeting for breakfast at the Circus Circus before heading over to the registration at the Sahara. In the lobby was this nice looking chopper:

After eating breakfast Rob and I headed back over to the Sahara to register and meet everyone. The poker run consisted of Rob, Tony & Becky, Vixyn, Rhyno and myself. One of the stops was at the Harley shop where we saw some interesting but cool bikes. This one goes for $60k (Tony correct me if I'm wrong):

Inside the kart racing place we managed to get some free Monster drinks. Although I hate it, I did see a tan looking can, so when I saw one I quickly swooped it up since it was java flavor. I fell in love with Monster after all. In the parking lot we saw some very cool bikes and met some cool ppl.

After the 3rd stop there was a long leg of the route that could be skipped. But what's the point, why not enjoy the ride? So we did. Thru the Lake Mead recreation area and back to the Hoover Dam.

We even managed to see some rams.

The 4th stop was at the Arlen Ness shop. Rob & I managed to get a picture with very tall woman. Taller than me even. Hell I didn't care, perfect view for me =D

Every stop had free snacks and drinks available to us and this one was no different. Hotdog or brat and a beer. Free beer? Really? Saaaaaweeet. Not to mention I was on my way to an ace high straight with only 1 card left to draw. In line for beer...err food and beer they were having a bike wash. I enjoyed the show if I do say so myself.

One of the guys in line had a dog sitting comfortably on his shoulder. We all wondered if the dog rode on his shoulder like this.

True Twitter addicts, while others were jealous we were not talking to each other as much as thru Twitter. How sad is that?

The last stop was vendor village and where the bike show was going on. Just before we walk in, I reminded everyone that I had an ace high straight draw. I told them to just watch my luck I would get a 2 or 3 and ruin it. We head to the cards, I hesitated (which I knew was a bad idea) and draw a........3? A fucking 3? Are you kidding me? Seriously? OMG!!!! I would have won the poker run. DAMN IT!!! Of all the shitty luck! Oh well, I still had fun riding with everyone. Tons of fun and laughs the entire time, and I really do mean the entire time.

So right after we part I see this bike, and its just my style.

Then we spot another one that was very unique. They managed to use nuts and bolts to make accessories that look like skeleton parts.

At the show in the vendor area I saw one of the worlds coolest bikes ever! You guessed it, Jack Daniel's baby!!!!

At nite we went down to the Bellagio to watch the water show. I managed to take 2 videos with my phone, but have since deleted. You can click the links to see each one.

While down there, I saw Jack Sparrow. I dragged Xavier with so we could get a picture of us with him. I also dragged Vixyn to take the shot for us. Jack was very willing for a photo op, although needless to say he was mad at me for some reason. I'm thinking he just wanted my gambling money.

I rushed back to Circus Circus since Xavier wanted to go see the Jigsaw (from the Saw series of movies) Halloween stuff. After waiting a bit Sandy and I found a bar and she bought a pitcher of margaritas. Oh yeah! Rob, Vixyn & Rhyno caught up with us shortly after getting back to a bench in front of the Jigsaw entrance. After waiting a bit I impatiently told Sandy I would be back, and decided I would try my first table game ever. I was determined to play craps. Oh boy did I make a mistake. I fell in the love with the game instantly. Rob, Vixyn and Rhyno came with, although only Rob and I played. Rob decided he would try it as well, so we both learned together. We were at the table about an hour and a half and I was only down $20. You can't buy that kind of entertainment that cheap. I was a happy camper. Well that was until what was about to happen.

Once again after all this we headed back down to Hogs and Heiffers. Some were already just inside the door. I grabbed a beer and security let me in. This is where the real term "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" really comes into play. Women dancing on the bar, stripping down and the only thing was basically things covering their nipples. Tho I can't say I really needed to see all of them...I definitely could have done without seeing all of them. About 15 minutes after watching from inside a bouncer (in fact the same bouncer that directed me where to enter) told me I had to either turn my cut inside out or leave. They have a "no colors" policy. I asked if there was a sign and he stated right out front above the door. I asked if I was able to still buy beer from the bar outside and hang out there, in which he stated I was. I told the group I was going outside and would see them later. Alex came out with me and we proceeded to look at the bikes. There is this one guy who was drunk as shit that just kept repeating himself about his bike (which, mind you, was not present) and that we were really really cool. Although the conversation was longer then we'd wished, it wasn't to bad so we took back off to the front of the bar. Within a few minutes everyone was out and we were hanging out again.

Now I really have to say, although I never once asked anyone to follow me or avoid anything during Vegas, everyone was very respectful of my decision of not only to wear my cut but to refuse to remove it or turn it inside out. That to me, shows me who my friends are. I will not take my cut off for anyone except for myself. Plain and simple. So for those who were there, thank you very much. You have no idea how much it meant for you to respect this.

Keep in mind by I went to sleep all 4 nites between 3:30am and 4am of the next morning after partying. Friday morning I was up by 6:30am so I could meet Rob by 7am. The rest I was wide awake by 8. It took me well over a week to feel normal again.

Saturday we didn't have much of a plan except the vendor village and the bike show. Hell I don't even remember what we ate. In the vendor village I enjoy getting pictures with some beautiful ladies. Thanx to Rob and Vixyn for embarrassing me. I'm glad you did. I was to chicken shit.

Oops I guess I'm getting ahead of myself. I forgot that was before. Here you go with the correct ones.

Next I'm going to post some of the pictures from the bike show. But first a bike after my own heart with the Alien movie theme (just like my tattoos).

That was not an every day rider, that's for sure...looks nice, but what's the point. This next bike was pretty cool, but only because of the theme. I'm Italian after all, so how can I not like this?

Next I have to point out the bikes Jason of Hellcats Customs worked on. First is Jason's drag bike.

After looking at all of the bikes we went to the Artistry in Iron exhibit inside the building.

This has to be one of the sickest custom baggers I have ever seen. With as low as it was to the ground, I'm hoping they did not ruin it by NOT adding an adjustable suspension.

And of course I could not go the entire time without wanting photos of the group. In case you aren't sure what we look like starting on the top left...Rob, Rhyno, Vixyn, Kelly, Alex and cut out of the picture was Tony and I can't remember if Becky was there to but I'm sure she was. Sorry that you got cut out Tony, maybe Kelly can squeeze you in using Photoshop. Then the bottom left was me, Monkey & the motorcycle genius Jason. I did not take the photo as it looked fine when looking thru the camera, so I'm not fully sure why we got so much backlight. Either way this photo was way overdue.

By this time I think we were all pretty tired. It was warm and in fact a bit hot. All this staying out late til the wee hours of the morning and waking up early to partake in more events has me wiped out. But don't worry, its not over yet! Saturday nite we couldn't fully decide what to do but we did try to coordinate dinner. At the bike show someone one a gift certificate/gift card and was cool enough to give it to Becky and Tony to enjoy an evening out alone. Rob, Vixyn and I almost went to the same spot but I was too cheap to spend that kind of money. Come to find out it was a Jack Daniel's themes dinner and they got free shots. WTF?!?!?! We decided to do the pool party all you can eat BBQ and beer (yes all included in the price). At first we thought the pool party was $30 but we walked in for $40. Damn! For only $8 more I could have had a sit down dinner with free shots of JD, wtf was my cheap ass thinking? Oh well, no regrets huh? The BBQ was actually really good, and even had dessert. And of course, FREE beer. I started to collect the plastic cups, but then ended up losing them somewhere along the line.Vixyn took a pic of Rob and I with my Blackberry. Look mom, free beer! Yes I know, we look pretty exhausted.

During the pool party Rob and I had saw 2 Jack Daniel's girls walking around. One was wearing JD stuff. We saw her with a bottle of black label JD and some plastic cups. I had to get a pic with her, so I called her over and she was willing to partake in the photo op. She's a hottie, and of was, of course, holding up my buddy Jack.

During the pool party, I was trying to buddy up with what I think was the hotel manager or at least some big shot. He was dressed in a suit and was a very nice guy. Talked to him for a bit. Basically on the way in they had a no colors sign (which they have had all over), although the Sahara really didn't enforce it that I saw. I wanted to make sure this guy knew I was not going to be any trouble. At one point he did look at my cut, but did not even say anything to me about it. He just joked around with me as I did him. After we were done Rob, Vxen and I headed back into the casino so Rob and I could find an energy filled table to play groups for a couple of hours. And damn what a table it was. This would be the last time I would end up playing this trip. I spent several hours playing craps and only ended up down $50. You can't buy entertainment like that so inexpensively. At one point on this table I was up by $60, but was having to much fun to quit. Although it would have been nice to walk away with some good money, they don't call it Los Wages for nothing lol.

The next morning I woke up at 8 even tho I set my alarm for 9. I looked at my phone and saw I had messages but rolled back over. A few seconds later I decided I should look since we never talked about the ride back. Uh oh, I had messages from Kelly asking me if I was riding back. I freaked out, jumped up, threw clothes on, packed up and tried to figure out what was going on. We were to meet for breakfast on the strip. I quickly checked out of the hotel, packed up the bike and hauled ass to the restaurant. No one was even there yet! lol all that for nothing. That was ok, shortly after everyone started to show up. The ride home sucked, as the wind was pretty insane. The line just to get to Hoover Dam was backed way up and did take us a while to get thru. At some point the bikes took a short cut on the right shoulder to bypass some of it. Once up at the top, we put the bikes in neutral and turned them off to coast all the way. Alex and I had coasting races down lol good times! The intense wind from the dam to Kingman was bad enough that I was almost scraping most of the way. Keeping in the lane was quite the challenge. I really felt bad for Alex trying to ride in the wind on a sporty. You did great buddy, and held up like a champ.

Rob and I really had some great quality time with each other. Since he is a minister I was afraid I would offend him. I am very rough around the edges and pretty much speak my mind. He was ok with it since he is around it with other bikers. I talked to Rob in good detail about Michael whom I want to meet some day. Although I do fear how he would read me based on how accurate he has been, tho this will not change my mind. Rob and I had a blast learning craps together. After hearing the podcast he was in, I wished we had talked more deeply about his ministry or his family. I really do consider him a brother and would do anything for him as long as it is my grasp to do so.

As far as the rest of the group, I got to meet some great new ppl and really got to know those whom I've already met. I only hope that we can do this all again soon.

I almost did forget to mention something worthy of attention. Rob and I were walking very late on Fremont Street and entered the Fremont Casino. I immediately see a lage sign that says no colors, but since I have seen these with no enforcement we continued in. This was a late nite tour and we were darting for the craps tables. Out from behind a wall jumped a large security guard as if he was already watching me and planning to do this. Next a 2nd (again large) one appears out of no where. They told me I need to either turn my cut inside out to leave. Also mentioning that they are the only casino that has this policy so we could get into any of the other ones with no problem. So we leave. I think this may have been on Friday nite. After we walked into another casino, we this is where we found our energized first time player craps table.

Patched into MC, booted out of existence

I have found it quite interesting, since I have patched in. I have noticed many ppl's attitude toward me change, and not for the better. Yes I joined a motorcycle club, but I have not changed. I am the same man I was before I even met them. The media continues to tell lies about MC's and knowing how ppl are they just believe it. In once sense I can't blame the, its called brainwashing. The media is supposed to tell all the facts. But they don't they only tell some of the facts and in many cases made up facts. I could go on and on about this, but I won't. Just remember gather facts and/or experiences, and come to your OWN conclusion.

A good instance is the show Sons of Anarchy. Although very entertaining, it does not do good to help this bad image ppl have. Now I can't say much I enjoy watching the show, but this is just not reality. There are so many things I could spend hours pointing that are incorrect and I'm not just talking about the crimes.

I'm not going to get into more specifics here, but I can see that I am pushing ppl away. Or what I should say is they are pushing themselves away. Again I have not changed. You could always ask my good friend Rob that I met off Twitter and actually met in person during Vegas Bikefest. I don't think he thought I was a bad guy. I am a biker, this is fact but I am a nice guy. Yes I can be an prick of the worst kind if provoked, but for the most part I am loyal to a fault to my friends.

I chalk this all up to not only a learning experience which will help me grow and become a better person, but it will weed out those who I "thought" were my friends who really are not my friends. My real friends will always be there.

I do also partially understand the thoughts of others that bikers have bad attitudes. Yes, yes we do. Would you like to know why? Its because of how the world treats us. We usually don't start out with attitudes. Its something we get along the way. Remember the Golden Rule, treat us how you want to be treated and we will do the same.

One thing I really like about being a biker most of all, it shows how against the grain I am. Now I do not say this meaning I enjoy pissing ppl off. What I mean is that I do not just accept things for the way they are, I question everything and I stand up for what I believe in. Right or wrong.

I have edit this post a couple times...I may just have to do another post after this edit. I have been kicked out of several bars for "No Colors". This is discrimination no matter how you look at it. I was even kicked out of the Fremont Casino in Vegas. They told me I would have to remove my cut. I'm sorry, but I will not. There is a time and place when I will not wear it, but to me I am trying to make more of a statement. Why should I follow the rules of society that discriminate for what you wear? Why don't they post a sign saying "No Harley attire" or "No Racing Gear allowed" or "No bandanna's". Discrimination only starts here, and as a friend at work has said before "once the door is cracked open, you can never shut it again".

So while I got prospect patched into the MC it seems as tho I was booted out of normal society's existence. Its quite sad, but it will not change who I am.

True ramblings of no concern

Its been a bit since I've posted anything. My first month as as prospect has been great. A real learning experience. Last weekend (not this passed but the one before) at the ACMC (Arizona Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs) which was clear out in AJ (Apache Junction) which just so happens to be on the complete other side of the valley. It was quite the humbling experience. All of these "outlaw clubs" or "1% clubs". There is a protocol, of course, much like any structured group. Much like the military or government. You follow a certain protocol, which includes how you act and what you say. All these clubs have the same structure. President, Vice President, etc. This I already knew, so it was not much of a surprise. I did trip over my words trying to speak to fast. You know what I found out, so did some of the patch holders. They are just as normal as you and I. Not that I expected any different, but quite a few have bad thoughts when the word "biker" comes to mind. The more I think on this, is the ignorance that others have of the unknown and seems to be a jealously of the kind of freedom and rebelliousness to stand up to those who most do not and tell them that they are wrong. Standing up for ones owns God given rights, not the ones that the government so called allows us. I felt very comfortable there. I was honestly looking for some type of law enforcement agency watching us. Its very sad that they feel they need to do that. I was able to be in the meeting for a bit, but could not hear anything they were saying and was quite disappointed. This meeting is all about bikers rights. Didn't last very long before all prospects and hang arounds got sent out of the meeting.

After we went to eat since a couple of us were getting sick from not eating. By this time it was 3:30pm. Our club and 3 others were hosting an event at a local bar. Since I'm a prospect I knew I was going to have to bust my ass, or that was at least what I expected. Turns out I ended up feeling like I had not done enough. Regardless it turned out to be a great event with a pretty good turn out.

So here I lay, a week away from my 2nd church. I still feel like a little kid waiting to open his presents on Christmas Eve. The excitement has still not worn off. It really takes a certain kind of person to go from prospect to patch holder. I look forward to the day I reach that goal.

Countdown is 10 days until Vegas Bikefest. I was fortunate enough to meet 4 Tweets on Saturday for lunch. It was a real pleasure. Jason, Kelly, Tony (and tell Becky as well if you read this) & Alex thank you. You have made my excitement jump way up. You are all very cool and I think we are going to have a great time.

I'm going to end this on a different note. A friend of mine from twitter recently lost a friend named Jock. It took everything I had to read that. I finally broke down and this is going to be a tough end to the post. See, a year and a half ago I had to put my baby to sleep. Before I had her I was never really a big fan of cats. She was a 6-7 year old American Shorthair cat. Her name was Arwen, which I was the elf princess from Lord of the Rings. I hope that writing this will help me vent this so that it doesn't hurt as much. It started out when I adopted her as a kitten. She was super cute. Right after I brought her home she got very sick. Since she was newly adopted we got the free vet visit and all the meds she needed. They said she had a very bad case of kennel cough. Getting her to take the meds, eat and drink was quite a choir. She really did not want any of it. I just continued to love her and also had to force meds as well as water. She got hungry and started eating and drinking on her own again. I had to nurse this little creature back to health. Ever since that her and I were inseparable. If I was laying down, she was laying on or next to me. Many nites she put me to sleep with the vibrating purrs while she was laying on my chest. I have never seen such personality or so much love out of an animal in my life. At that time I used to shave my head. I loved the feeling of her extremely rough tongue on my head so I always got her to lick my head and she did so quite often. Even in bed before I fell asleep. When it was time for me to come home from work, she used to pace the floor until I got there and said hi to her. Saying hi to her was not just simply talking to her. It was picking her up and holding her upside down like a baby while I pet her. This is not normal for cats and she was very trusting of me. As I said about a year and a half ago, she got really sick. I noticed right away. She wouldn't come to me, and was difficult even finding her in the house. I quickly took her in to the vet and they told me she was having kidney failure. Her kidneys were functioning normal strength but would not filter anything so all liquid would pretty much come out when she had to go to the litter box. I spend a couple thousand dollars talking to specialist and said there was really nothing that could be done except dialysis and would cost thousands. Every vet said I should let her die on her own terms or put her to sleep. I saw how she was acting. Even after getting a refresh of fluids she still more less wanted to be alone and die and I could not take it. I could not take seeing this poor little girl suffer. I made the most difficult decision of my entire life. Her life was in my hands and I hated the choices. This is my child! Animal or not! This isn't fair. I spend the entire day and nite holding her and petting her on my chest. The next morning I took her in to get her put to sleep. I feel like I killed my own flesh and blood and it still hurts me to this day. I did get her cremated so I could keep the ashes. Maybe it is a bit morbid, but I have her ashes and talk to her almost every day.

Lifestyles not all the same

Ever try to educate someone about something they had the same misconceptions as the public? I'm not always a nice guy and I don't hide this fact. I am very opinionated and very outspoken, although I do not push my thoughts and beliefs on others because I do not like others doing it to me. I don't know everything, nor do I claim it as I do. I am judgmental. No one said its a good thing to do, but isn't human nature after all? Isn't this the same brain activity that creates prejudice? After an interesting experience today, this really made me think. Why do most accept the ignorance that is told to them as their own? Not everything fits under this, but to judge a person or a group of people based on looks or lifestyle is just silly. If you do not yourself look that way or live that lifestyle. You only know of it what your tiny brain has sponged up from others or even possibly what the media pushes upon others. The media lives by the constitutional right of freedom of speech, but have they taken it to far? I believe so. You can not always believe what you hear without knowing all the facts. In most cases it is the ignorance and closed mindedness that put hurt in the world.

As I said I had quite an experience today. Not particularly a good experience, other then learning from the situation and quickly stepping away. Not to avoid or run, but rather to separate myself from this ignorance. I can tell you that I am close minded in many ways. Although I do try to give the benefit of the doubt. But fortunately I do not see the ignorance in my existence. An ex girlfriend and long time friend had a conversation that got a bit heated on both of our parts. She was judging my brothers and sisters of my club. I automatically got in the defensive mode, which is really never a good start. She was not just saying she doesn't like it but she was pushing her opinion and beliefs about them on me, even tho she has never even seen or met them. I further explained this to her and it escalated. She claimed freedom of speech. At this point I was more then quite annoyed and frustrated so I told her to keep her mouth shut if she has nothing good to say about them to me. My words were very rude and stern. Not the best thing I could have said. The club is my extended family, and is part of who I am, so of course I am going to take it very personal. To make a long story short these are the last words we had (thru online work chat):

Her: they are not family , i guarantee you did something to piss them off, they'd shoot your ass faster than you can say sorry, but if it happens, let me know so i can say i told you so
Her: I'm done.
Me: Just the ignorance most of the general public has. Done, I doubt you will ever be, but I sure as hell am.
Me: You can take your close mindedness and keep it to yourself far away from me.

This is exactly what I really expected she was thinking. Too many people think this same way, even tho they really have no idea. I agree that the MC lifestyle is much different, but please do not shun us for what or who we are. We live as we should. We are not the types that the public thinks we are. This kind of thinking only puts fear into others, when there is no reason to fear. We are not criminals, we are not thugs, we are hard working individuals who are motorcycle enthusiasts and love to be around those that enjoy the same.

Badass biker

Badass biker. This is a work that really makes me think. Have you heard this from someone before? Has anyone called you this? I have heard this term often lately. What exactly defines a badass biker? Seriously, what? I'm not really even sure if I can define this.

3 ppl I know have recently termed me a badass biker. When this was said to me, my expression was exactly the same. I look at them with such a gaze as to question why they have deamed me as such and what exactly define this.

I thought for this on quite some time. So I decided to take this to an internet source (although not Webster's Dictionary, has some use in common terminology and slang) http://www.urbandictionary.com. I would break this down into 2 searches. The first being badass.

1. badass
The epitome of the American male. He radiates confidence in everything he does, whether it's ordering a drink, buying a set of wheels, or dealing with women. He's slow to anger, brutally efficient when fighting back.

The badass carves his own path. He wears, drives, drinks, watches, and listens to what he chooses, when he chooses, where he chooses, uninfluenced by fads or advertising campaigns. Badass style is understated but instantly recognizable. Like a chopped Harley or a good pair of sunglasses: simple, direct, and functional.

After reading this, I did see this as me. I honestly had no idea I was going to pull this definition up. If you've ever used this site you will know that there are many definitions for each word. Just so happens that this is the first one, and it really surprised me. Now lets look at the second word biker.

1. biker

A biker is some one who not only owns a motorbike but rides it for pleasure as well as mere transport. They tend to be a friendly bunch but any who crosses them will be "persuaded" not to do so again!

3. Biker

Man who eats, breathes and sleeps Harley Davidson. Doesn't own a cage, only owns his Harley. One not to be messed with. Answers to nobody but himself. They make the best friends. Bikers say what they mean and mean what they say. Very large balls. Real bikers ride Harley Davidson motorcycles.
He's a biker and belongs to a MC. Cops are afraid of bikers when they don't have their guns and badges. Bikers are quality people. He's not a biker, he rides a rice rocket. A lot of wannabe's think that they're real bikers. Bikers have no fear!

I am a little annoyed that they mention Hells Angels in the first definition. I'm also offended by the 3rd definition. I don't own a Harley. One does not have to own a Harley to be a biker. I would consider anyone who rides any motorcycle including crotch rockets a biker. They are a different breed, but they are still bikers. I also own a cage, although rarely drive it since my bike is my main form of transportation. And an MC? I know blenty of ppl I would consider bikers who are not members of a riding club or motorcycle club.

Ok after taking a moment so I'm not annoyed with other ppl's definition of a biker, my mind comes back to reality and I still couldn't think of my own definition. What do you think a badass biker is? I'm not sure I quite know. I would have never thought of myself as a badass biker. I'm just a biker. I have many qualities as most bikers so and also have my own qualities that make me different. Is it the patch on my vest? Only one that sticks out is the one that says "Proud American Gun Owner". There are plenty of gun owners in the world that do not own a motorcycle. I'm just a simple biker. What is a badass biker to you?

Hail Mary

Church. Its a word that everyone knows. It's something that most don't really think about, don't analyze. But when one does think about it, God, angels & even heaven come to mind. For a biker, for most bikers, church means something much different. Not the breaking of the bread, nor is it the standing, sitting, kneeling they do, not even prayer or songs.

I've heard it before, many times. Not with me in the conversation. Not with me listening to the conversation. More of just over hearing it.

This was a recent thought. Tonite was bike nite. The guys and gals are great. I love these pppl, I really do. Although I haven't known them long, I believe they would give me the shirt off their backs if they had no more in their closet. Family. That's what I see, that's I think about when I think about them. There is rarely any handshaking, mostly just hugs. A hug is very warm and tender. Even from another brother. And the term brother is not to be used lightly. But in this case, brother. This feels like family.

Everyone was leaving at the same time. Brett (the prospect) and I were the last ones out. On the way out he asked me if I was going to church next Sunday. I had not one single bit of hesitation. This felt much of an honor. To be asked to join them with such little time between us. Brett already asked Lodur if I was coming and Lodur told him yes. I had no previous knowledge of this at all, but I am honored. Saturday is a Rough Rider MC event that I will be going to with the family. Lodur is going to the Cardinal's game and will not be there. But I know some of the others will. I feel much like a little kid with the excitement of not being able to sleep the night before Christmas. Church. Church is perfect.

Abra Cadabra! Could it be Magic?

Yesterday evening I was having a beer with the club. I walked out of the bar to head home and noticed my nasty looking pipes. I couldn't believe it. They looked like crap. There was this black gunk on them. Not a small spot either.

Lucky for me this wasn't the first time this had ever happened to me. My last bike was an 85 Honda Davidson as some call it. Its a Honda Shadow VT1100C and since it looks quit a bit like a Harley it got its nickname. I had laid the bike down and since the insurance was to pay for it, I decided to change out the stock exhaust for the only exhaust available for it, by a company called MAC that I've never heard of. No heat shields of course....would recommend them at all. However because of the way that the pipes had to run it was right by the right foot peg. Very close. And often I was melt some of my boot onto the pipe.

I pretty much figured I was screwed, but was still quite happy that my exhaust was loud. One day a buddy came over and noticed the spot. He told me he could take it pretty quickly. He pulled out some Blue Magic brand metal polish cream.

I told him he was crazy and that the leather was cooked into the pipe and had been that way for months. He ignored me, grabbed a microfiber rag, dabbed a little on and kept rubbing away at it. Finally the spot was gone...and I was forever sold on it.

Today was quite the similar situation, only I knew I could get it out. Don't get me wrong, its not really quick, but I think this only took me about 30 minutes. You have to put a little elbow grease into it and push while rubbing it in. In fact I use my nail thru the microfiber towel. Look its magic! It has ammonia in it, so you'll want to be careful. Note: DO try this at home, this was not an actually professional.

This is a product worth using. I'm not only the president (of shit) I'm actually a client too!

Night out with the MC

I had a great time with the MC last nite. They seem to be a great bunch. I spent quite a while talking to the prospect as far as his opinions and how they treat him. The members told me all about the club. They invited me to come back next Thursday with them. This time we are going to have a beer and ride to what used to be called Coyote Hill. It has new ownership who is biker friendly this time. Even a short ride, I think this is needed for me to see if I fit in with them. Apparently so far, I am pretty sure they think I do.

Its been a while since updated.

Ultimately the shop screwed my bike up. I soldered the rear brake switch wires back on. Horn isn't fixed but I'm pretty sure the auto relay is damaged again. Not important to deal with right now.

I was lucky enough to get invited to hang out with Desert Thunder MC tonite. Could be interesting.

Bike update

The good news is that I figured out what the problem was. Bad news is that I have to gain more information but I have a feeling the shop did it.

The rear brake switch wires got ripped off. Its appears to have some solder so I need to find out if this is factory solder or not.

I'm having issues once again with my bike. 07 Kawi VN900 Classic. I took the bike to the shop to get serviced and once home noticed electrical issues. I really hate shop just as I do on cages. First it was noticing I have no back lighting for my speedo and after market tac. Then start looking at the fuses. Come to find out my horn fuse is blow (aftermaker air horn) and my tail light fuse as well. I replaced the fuses and didn't think anything of it. This morning right before I left I noticed the lights weren't working again. I pull the fuses and my tail light fuse blew again. So I go thru 3 more fuses. The fuse blows as soon as I turn the key on, without ever touching the brakes. Now I have to troubleshoot this. I'm not very good at electrical, tho I am getting better. I really do not want to bring it in the shop for this because as I said I don't trust shops, even more so with electrical. I'm also thinking they are going to try to say its because of something after market it damaged such and such and not covered by the warranty. So frustrating.
